P³ Software License Terms

These terms govern the download, installation, and use of P³. P³ is proprietary software. The operator identified in the Imprint is the licensor.

1. Acceptance

By downloading, installing, or using P³, you accept these terms. If you use P³ on behalf of an organization, you confirm that you are authorized to accept the applicable terms for that organization.

2. Free private-use license

A natural person may install and use P³ without charge solely for personal, non-commercial purposes and not on behalf of an employer, client, company, or other organization.

3. Free academic-use license

Students and staff of a university or publicly recognized higher education institution may install and use P³ without charge for teaching, study, and non-commercial academic research. This grant does not cover contract research, paid services, work performed for a commercial partner, or another activity carried out primarily for commercial benefit.

4. Company and commercial use

Any use by or on behalf of a company, business, employer, consultancy, or client requires a separate paid commercial license before use. This includes internal research and development, evaluation for business use, production work, consulting, and customer projects. Contact P³ through the contact form to request written commercial terms. Downloading the software does not grant commercial-use rights.

5. License scope and restrictions

Each granted license is limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, and revocable under these terms. You may not resell, sublicense, rent, host for third parties, redistribute, or present P³ as your own product. You may not remove proprietary notices or distribute modified versions. Reverse engineering, decompilation, or disassembly is prohibited except where applicable law expressly permits it. Mandatory rights to make a backup copy, observe or test operation, or obtain interoperability information remain unaffected where they apply.

6. Your data and results

You retain your rights in datasets, simulation and experimental data, trained models, predictors, and other outputs that you create or process with P³. Using P³ does not by itself transfer ownership of that material to the licensor.

7. Pre-release status

Pre-release versions are provided for testing and may contain errors, incomplete features, or compatibility issues. Features and availability may change. Future releases may be offered under updated terms.

8. Scientific and engineering responsibility

P³ is a tool and does not replace professional judgment, independent validation, safety review, or regulatory approval. You are responsible for checking data, simulations, analyses, models, predictors, and decisions based on their outputs. P³ is not represented as suitable for safety-critical use or as providing guaranteed scientific accuracy.

9. Third-party software

P³ may include third-party components governed by their own license notices. Those licenses apply to the relevant components and do not change the proprietary status of P³ itself.

10. Warranty and liability

To the extent permitted by applicable law, P³ is provided without additional warranties. Nothing in these terms excludes, limits, or changes rights or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, limited, or changed.

11. Termination

A license ends if you materially breach these terms or, for commercial use, when the applicable commercial agreement ends. When the license ends, you must stop using and remove the software. Provisions concerning ownership, restrictions, responsibility, and liability continue where applicable.

12. Applicable law

These terms are governed by the laws of Germany, without depriving consumers of mandatory protections that apply under the law of their country of residence.
